So, I’ve fallen into a bad habit on my days off.  Last night for example, I had plans of getting my paycheck, downloading music, ( <— is that an Oxford Comma?) and playing some video games with my friends. But, of course, this was ruined by my part time narcolepsy. The event occurred around six ish, I passed out, and was awaken by the call of dinner. Then afterwards, I went to asleep, again, and much deeper. The Rumb Thumb

While sleeping too much isn’t the hardest thing for me to get over, this time it was. I did nothing for five hours, where as, I could have been catching up on sleep

I played a hour of video games, listened to music, and texted Tiffany. Usually this would have been ok, but I was up until two in the morning. As that would be bad usually, I have PSAE class and work tonight. Good News!

One good thing did come out of this. I informed Jessica via myspace that I had taken a liking to Christine, and though it took six days, I did finally get a reply. Jessica ( She’s fairly short, so I may call her “Tiny’) said that Christine and I would be a “cute” couple, which is moderately meaningless to me, but I took it as a compliment. Jessica also mentioned that she would bring it up with Christine (hopefully Wednesday). So, I do have something to look forward to. I’m not necessarily expecting a Yes, more of some closure on that part of my life.

Now, music was the more dominent part of last night, so I’ll go into some depth as far as that goes. The first artist, yes artist, I took a liking to was Gregory and The Hawk. I dont have Wikipedia at hand, so I can’t rattle of her name, but it’s a woman that is the main focus. She has a very innocent voice, and that gets to me. The second band I took a liking to was Ra Ra Riot. Eventually you’ll learn that I’m a sucker for a Cello or Violin, well generally and orchestra instroment. This excludes the Saxophone, that is just plain annoying.

I’ve been pretty up and down emotionally today. In art I was happy, then math angry, then theatre sad, and now in cisco I’d say I’m pretty complacent. I’m not the happiest person you’ll meet, but if you smile at my jokes, I’ll smile back.

I’m also wondering if anybody reads this. Probably not

Note to Self:

As of Saturday I have been on a music binge. I do this occasionally, but it’s pretty hefty this time. Usually the work load is five to eight albums, but it’s ten this time around. When I speak of a “work load”, I referring to the amount of new music I need to listen to. Seeing how I’m either at school or work 75% of the time, this task is fairly difficult. For example, right now I’m listening to My Morning Jacket. While months ago I decided that I didn’t love them, I am in fact giving them another chance. In my opinion “Evil Urges” wasn’t the bee’s knees, but “It Still Moves” is much better. One reason I gave them another go is Jim James. It’s one of the things where if their affiliated with Conor Oberst, I look them up (M. Ward, Arab Strap, David Dondero, Simon Joyner).

Now some of you may have heard of Miracle of  ’86, they are mucho supreme. Kevin Devine fronts the group, which was the reason I tried them. They are definitely more electric orientated, but that’s OK, isn’t it.

For future reference: I hate the saxophone

So, today is an odd day, to say the least. I am of course in High School. Well, in my theater class, that I love, we are doing plays. My group consists of one of my friends, an ex girlfriend from seventh grade, and other assorted people. Unfortunately the directer is my ex, which makes getting an OK grade semi difficult. One major thing to have is your script, moderately obvious, I always lose mine. One of the assorted people in a sophomore named Ryan. Somehow Ryan thought stealing my script, and using it as his. Keep in mind, I had my lines pointed out on my script. So, I was under the thought that I had lost mine once again, little did I know Ryan was using it. This being said, I went to borrow his(my) script and found that it was mine. So, My ex and I confronted him and HE DENIED IT. This leads me to the main point. How can someone think that stealing is ok? I’ll admit, in my youth I stole some, but now I’m mature. Not only was it stealing, he had to have known this was hurting my grade. I am fairly proud of my grades. So, I’ll copy his script and keep my mouth shut, because, sigh, I’m to passive to care.

So much for ranting. My new found love is in fact, PLAID. I have two shirts, but alas, one is two small. I’m going to go to JC Pennys and get some. I also need new headphones and drop CD’s off at work for Lauren.

Does Anyone Remember

Old Death Cab for Cutie. don’t get me wrong here, I love DCfC, but their old stuff is really good. Transatlanticism isn’t old old, but it is (in my opinion) there best album. Plans certainly is a close second. “Love is watching someone die” is a great line, in addition.

So I’ve been thinking that I should include personal things here. I have come to the conclusion of yes, I should so here I go: I’m not going to lie, I’m a depressed person. Not I hate myself sad, just I don’t have a huge interest in being happy. This being said, for the past few days I have actually felt okay. I’ve been listening to sadder music (Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, Interpol) but it’s still happy. So that’s my first rant about me.

Interpol Today

So, I recently downloaded “Turn on the Bright Lights” by Interpol and found myself loving them again. When I was 13 ish my brother bought “Antics”, I didn’t really love it then, but keep in mind, I was 13. A few months back I got “Our Love to Admire” which wasn’t quite as good as their Junior album but oh well. When I went to get gas this morning I gave TotBL a chance. When I got to “NYC” I had fallen again for Interpol. “But I’m sick of spending these lonely nights/Training myself not to care.” Thats is my favorite line from that entire album. The cold mono tone voice ringing through the speakers set the mood for another grey March day.

On his myspace he has a Ustream concert with him, Manchester Orchestra, and All Get Out. The last of those I haven’t heard of, the rest are very good. Kevin has a new album out in late April entitled “Brothers Blood”, its been leaked. Please, I beg you, download it if you must, but buy it. It’s really great.

First Post/ Arab Stap

This is my first post and I’m fairly excited. I’d really love to share my music that I’ve found with everyone. So, to begin with I recently found a band called Arab Strap. I’m not going to lie, I only gave them a chance because Conor Oberst was featured in the album. I’ve downloaded “Monday”…. and “The Red Thread” (There is believed to be a red piece of string that connects true lovers) both very good. I read that the two members of the band both loved cheap liquor and Bill Callahan (also one to check out). The latter of the two is believe able, they sound somewhat similar.
